When owners Roger and Linda Carson landed in Cornwall they fell for the rugged landscape and history in every creek, but were less impressed with the latter-day houses and their failure to mirror the stone, slate and colour-washed render of the older homes in the towns and villages of Cornwall. It’s quite a mission statement to tailor brand new homes to the Cornish vernacular and weave them into dramatic landscapes. The local style is so distinctive and at times so startling, it is very easy to get wrong.

Rosemullion has worked exceptionally hard to get it right over 14 years of trading. It may be obsessive about design, but its houses are not just slavish pastiches. It does contemporary with twists well too. It gets more planning on sensitive sites than most, which is probably the greatest skill of all.
