St Ives development unveiled

One of Cornwall’s premier house builders renowned for its environmental dedication has unveiled its latest development to the public.

St Ives Mayor, Councillor Colin Sanger with Roger Carson

Rosemullion Homes welcomed guests to its Trinity Watch site in St Ives last week including the town’s Mayor, Councillor Colin Sanger, who performed the official opening duties.

The development, based off Higher Trewidden Road, in upper St Ives, features 15 new two, three and four bedroom properties. At the opening, Roger Carson, Rosemullion’s managing director, said: “As with all our developments, we’ve taken every effort to ensure Trinity Watch is special.” Every property at the site is unique through using a variety of designs, many of which incorporate spacious accommodation on five floors.

And to ensure the houses fit in with the style of older properties within St Ives, Rosemullion has used natural materials sourced locally whenever possible, including locally quarried stone and some reclaimed Delabole slate.

More than 40 guests attended the event and enjoyed guided tours of the site’s spacious show home.

“The opening celebrations went extremely well and I would like to thank all those who joined us at Trinity Watch,” said Roger.

“In particular we were privileged to have support from the Mayor, Councillor Colin Sanger, who joined us as guest of honour.”

The development’s panoramic sea views are already proving to be popular amongst buyers.

“Most of the larger houses at the top of the site will have wonderful sea views and we have already sold two of these off plan,” added Roger.

“These will be handed over to their new owners soon.”

A further three homes are available for sale with occupation dates this autumn or early next year.

At the event, guests were informed that four of the 15 properties will be provided as affordable housing through Devon & Cornwall Housing Association. As well as its dedication to providing an element of affordable and high quality housing, the Truro based house builder also takes a firm stand with environmental issues.

To ensure the houses will be energy efficient, all will be fitted with gas-fired under floor heating, wood-burning stoves and additional insulation in floors, walls and ceilings. A commitment to its green agenda has also seen Rosemullion Homes recycle all waste from the site.

“I’m proud to say that since starting the site a year ago, we’ve not yet sent a skip to landfill. Instead, all our waste materials have been separated and sent for recycling,” said Roger.

“We’ve made every effort to ensure these houses have been provided in a responsible way.”

Three of the new houses now nearing completion are available for sale with prices from £550,000 to £600,000. Each of these is of a different design with four or five bedroom accommodation ranging from 1865 sq ft to 2270 sq ft.

The show home is open Mondays to Saturdays from 12noon-4.30pm. Those wishing to book an appointment outside these times should contact estate agents Harding Laity of St Ives on 01736 794931, or Lillicrap Chillcott of Truro on 01872 273473
