Award-winning housebuilder delivers four new affordable homes in St Ives

The Cornish company named the UK’s Housebuilder of the Year has handed over the keys to four properties at its latest development in St Ives to a local housing association.

Earmarked as social housing available for rent to St Ives’ residents only, the two two-bedroom homes and two two-bedroom flats, one of which has been designed for disabled occupation, will be managed by Penwith Housing Association (PHA) which forms part of the Devon and Cornwall Housing Association group (DHCA).

L-R Roger Carson (Managing Director, Rosemullion Homes), Bob Bremner (Head of Development Cornwall & Plymouth, Devon & Cornwall Housing Association) and Ray Trebilcock (Construction Director, Rosemullion Homes)

In a presentation made on site, Ray Trebilcock, construction director of Truro-based Rosemullion Homes handed the keys to Bob Bremner, DCHA’s head of development in Cornwall and Plymouth.

Mr Bremner said: “We’re extremely pleased to be working with Rosemullion Homes on this project at Trinity Watch.

“The need for affordable housing in St Ives is high, so the fact that four homes have been made available as social housing exclusively for local people is fantastic.

“And the fact that these homes have been built to an extremely high specification by the country’s leading housebuilder is even better.”

The properties, which have sea views and are within walking distance of St Ives, form part of Rosemullion’s 15-property Trinity Watch development, which is located off Higher Trewidden Road.

Rosemullion’s managing director, Roger Carson, who was also at the presentation, said: “Trinity Watch has received a lot of interest because of its location and stunning views, and we’re pleased to be working with both Housing Associations to provide high quality affordable homes for local residents.”

“There is a great deal in the press at the moment about the need for affordable housing and ensuring that people have a chance to stay and live in the area they grew up or work in.

“At Rosemullion we’re proud to be delivering these opportunities to the local community.”
