Double win for Truro housebuilder

Double win for Truro housebuilder

A Cornish company, which was named the UK’s Housebuilder of the Year, has received further plaudits with two major awards for its latest development.

Rosemullion Homes’ Trinity Watch site in St Ives, where work on the 15-property development has just been completed, has been awarded Silver Standard in the Building for Life Awards.

Separately Trinity Watch’s site manager, James Smith, has won the South West Regional award in the Small Builder Category of the NHBC’s Annual Pride in the Job competition for his outstanding site management at the development.

“It’s been very exciting for us to gain further recognition for our successful Trinity Watch site,” said Rosemullion’s managing director, Roger Carson.

“James works extremely hard to ensure that his site is exceptionally well run and well managed, and its an attitude that does him credit.”

James was presented with his award at NHBC’s South West regional lunch at Western-Super-Mare. He is now one of the top 35 NHBC site managers in the UK.

NHBC’s regional director, Jim Lyons, who presented James with the award commented: “This is a young man who has built some of the finest houses we have ever inspected.”

James and his fiancée Vikki will now travel to London in January for an awards ceremony at the Royal Lancaster Hotel where he will find out if he has won a national award.

Trinity Watch then gained further recognition from one of the country’s foremost designers in the Building for Life awards.

Chaired by Red or Dead founder, Wayne Hemingway MBE, Building for Life believes that good quality housing can improve social wellbeing and quality of life by reducing crime, improving public health, easing transport problems and increasing property values.

In a letter sent to Roger Carson announcing the award Mr Hemingway states that: “Trinity Watch is an attractive scheme with architectural strengths.”

He added: “The scheme has excellent response to levels on the sloping site. High quality materials and construction have been used.”

The company will now receive a plaque and has been put forward into the next round of judging which will see the overall winners announced at a gala ceremony in December.

Roger Carson said: “This is another fantastic award for the team here at Rosemullion as it is further recognition of the hard work we put into creating quality housing schemes, that are sustainable and add to the local environment and economy.”
