Rosemullion Homes hopes to raise over £6000 for three charities – Care International, Habitat for Humanity and Stepping On, by completing the COINS 3 Peaks Challenge. The team of Roger Carson, Linda Carson, Rory Carson, Patrick Stanley and Caroline Wheeleker are aiming to climb the three highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales in less than 24 hours. They will be ably supported on the expedition by Bruce Brooke-Smith and David Peacock, who will drive them between Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon. “Last year we completed that challenge in 24 hours and 11 minutes, and finished 23rd out of 45 teams taking part,” said Rosemullion’s managing director, Roger Carson, who will use the event as a warm up for the Edinburgh Marathon in May. |
“It was hard work and we battled snow, fog, wind and rain to complete the challenge.
“We set ourselves a good benchmark for this year and I know after all the training everyone has put in we have a good chance of beating that time.
“To complete all three peaks in less than 24 hours is achievable and I’m really looking forward to the challenge.
“But I think the most important thing to remember is the reason why we are doing this, which is to help three very worthwhile charities.”
So far the team has been sponsored by ALNO Kitchens (Bradbury’s of Exeter Ltd), Morcom Construction, Arbuthnot Latham & Co., Limited – Private Bankers, Malcolm Harris Plumbing & Heating, Blairs Ltd, Travis Perkins Builders Merchants, Morgan Masonry, M&M Scaffolding and Lacey Hickie Caley.
“We’re really grateful for the generous support we’ve received to make this possible,” added Roger.
“But we still welcome more contributions to help!”
