Further recognition for Cornish housebuilder’s green credentials

After picking up a national award for its development near St Austell, a Cornish housebuilder has again been recognised for its green work.

Truro-based Rosemullion Homes finished as runner up in the Consumer Choices category at this year’s C+ Carbon Positive Awards.

Held at the Met Office in Exeter, the awards formed part of The Prince of Wales’s May Day Business Summit on Climate Change.

Rosemullion, who picked up a highly commended award for the use of ground source heatpumps at its Orchard development in Polgooth also had the honour of being the only housebuilder to be shortlisted.

“Obviously we were all extremely pleased to be shortlisted in such prestigious awards,” said Rosemullion’s managing director, Roger Carson.

“As a company we work hard to be as sustainable and green as possible.

“The Orchard at Polgooth was our first site to use ground source heatpumps, and it has been such a success that the system will be used at our new St Michael’s Reach development in Marazion.

“Our homes have also benefited from solar panels and increased insulation, which means that homeowners receive smaller bills, as well as reducing their carbon emissions.”

As well as their efforts for reducing environmental impact the company was commended for its use of local material and suppliers.
