Cornish housebuilding firm wins national recognition
A Cornish housebuilding company has been praised for its environmental dedication at the recent and prestigious Your New Home awards.

Taking place at the Globe Theatre, London, Rosemullion Home’s managing director, Roger Carson, was presented with a commended certificate in the Best Ecological Development category.
The award was given in acknowledgement of The Orchard at Polgooth, near St Austell.
The two properties, Orchard House and Orchard Cottage were both installed with ground source heat pumps, which Rosemullion believe is the first time such a system has been used on a private development in Cornwall.
It is estimated that the introduction of the ground source heat pumps will cut energy consumption by 50%, as well as save 2.3 tonnes of carbon per annum.
The properties also boast woodburning stoves and increased insulation, which Roger Carson believes will further boost their energy efficiency.
“Rosemullion Homes has always taken great care to ensure our properties respect the Cornish landscape,” said Roger.
“Now as a housebuilder it is our responsibility to help Cornwall further by developing houses with a lower carbon emission rate.
“I am delighted that our environmental action has been acknowledged by a national body.”
Orchard Cottage has been sold and Orchard House is being offered for sale at £435,000 freehold.
Viewing is by appointment through selling agents Lillicrap Chilcott (01872 273 473) and the house is also open for viewing this Saturday 15 March from 2-4.30pm.
